Congratulations to the Tonka Bay Bombers who are the 2019 USA 🇺🇸 Elite League National Bandy Champions! The Bombers won their first ever Gunnar Cup In dramatic fashion, defeating the Dinkytown Dukes in an overtime shootout after the teams ended regulation at 4-4. Both teams nearly scored in the last few minutes in a wild finish. The Bombers Eric Kyllonen and Alex Seitz scored penalty shot goals and Bomber keeper Gavin Ancheta stopped all of the Duke penalty shot attempts to seal the victory. Bombers fullback Kirby Horgan was named Playoff Most Valuable Player for his stellar backline play the entire playoffs.
In the semi finals Tonka Bay Bombers defeated Mississippi Mojo 5-3 and 6-4 and Dinkytown Dukes defeated Minnesota Blades 6-3 and 7-2.
