Pavel Silinski is coming back to his hometown Arkhangelsk during World Championship Boys 17!
Pavel is a 31 year old bandy referee, born in Arkhangelsk. Now he is going to work as a referee during the Championship that takes place in Arkhangelsk this week, March 14-16. Pavel is in his seventh season as a referee. Before that he played bandy since the age of 6. The family moved to Sweden and Edsbyn in 1993. His father, Dmitri Silinski, was an excellent scorer as a forward in different teams, including Vodnik, before their move to Sweden. Pavels father and mother still lives in Sweden, in Smedjebacken in the county of Dalarna.
Experiencing Arkhangelsk and working as a referee this week will not be a problem for the bilingual Pavel. With his fluent Swedish and Russian, he probably can communicate with any player.
-To come home to Arkhangelsk as a referee is really a dream I had, so it will be really cool to participate in this tournament, says Pavel.
He has developed much as referee. This season has gone really well as referee in the Swedish “Elitserien”.
-I had some matches in Elitserien last year, and this season I have gained even more confidence to be a referee at the highest level. It feels very inspiring.
FIB wishes Pavel and his colleagues Good Luck in the tournament!
