The teams in the Russian series can only have one foreign player from the coming season. The decision has been made by the Russian Bandy Federation. The federation conducted a survey among the clubs in the Super League and a large majority of the clubs wanted the limit of foreign players in Russian series.
The decision applies immediately and means no major problem for most clubs because the number of foreigners is very small. The clubs may have several foreign players in their squad but in each game there can only be one foreigner in the team. The decision applies only in Russian series games. But in tournaments like World Cup in Sandviken this fall the Russian teams can have an unlimited number of foreign players.
