The FIB Technical Committee has now decided on the conditions for the upcoming World Championships for men and the World Cup for club teams. The decisions apply to the World Championships which should have been held in 2020. The World Championships has been postponed due to the Covid19 pandemic.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2020 MOVES TO 2021
The World Championship tournament for Group A that would have been played 2020 will instead be played in the coming autumn 2021. The tournament will be held October 11-17.Â
Qualified teams to play are the Russian team, Sweden, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, USA, Germany and Estonia.
WORLD CUP FOR CLUB TEAMS WILL BE CANCELED
To enable the World Championship tournament this year’s World Cup for club teams will be canceled.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 MOVES TO 2022
The World Championships tournament for both Group A and Group B that was planned to be played this spring but will instead be played March 27-April 3, 2022.Â
