Sweden won the World Championship for Y19 Boys after a convincing final victory over Norway with 10-2. The tournament was a great success especially for Norway, which reached the final for the first time since 1976. The tournament has obviously been affected by the fact that Russia did not participate. This was the 30th World Championship in the bandy history. The first tournament was played in 1968.
This was the 15th gold for Sweden on the junior side for this age group. Russia has as many golds as Sweden if you include the championships that the nation won as the USSR.
