Ljusdal, Sweden, 24-27 October

The 2002 tournament was won by the Swedish club Sandvikens AIK, after victory against HK Vodnik from Russia with
3-2 in the final game.

Sandvikens AIK was beaten by Edsbyn in the Round Robin stage and did not win the group. But they got to the quarter final thanks to second place in it’s group.

Sandviken has always been strong and successful in penalty shootouts. Last year, the team won both the quarter final and the semi final on penalties. This year it was the same way. In the quarter final against Bollnäs GIF, the match ended 2-2, but Sandviken won on penalties. In the semi final, the result was the same, 2-2, against Västerås SK, but in the penalty shootout, Sandviken was superior and won it 3-0.

Vodnik made it’s way to the final by beating another Russian team, Start, by 5-2 and the semi final gave a victory against Edsbyns IF 4-2.
