The 2005 World Championship in Bandy was the 25th tournament ever. The tournament was held in Kazan, Russia, 30 January-6 February. The teams played in  Group A with six teams and Group B with five teams.

The championship was won by Sweden after a final win over Russia 5-2. It was Sweden’s eighth title.

The bronze medals went to Kazakhstan, which defeated the reigning World Champion Finland by 5-3 in the bronze match
