This year, the World Cup final was an all-Swedish affair when VästerÃ¥s SK and IFK Vänersborg qualified for the final game. VästerÃ¥s was the winner by 4-1.Â
Västerås won two games in the Round Robin against Kuzbass 5-2 and Vodnik 3-2 and one draw against Hammarby 2-2. In the quarter final Västerås beat Zorkij 4-3 and in the semi final Yenisei 2-1.
IFK Vänersborg won all the group games against Baikal Energy 2-1, Dynamo Moscow 4-2 and Vetlanda BK 5-4. Then in the quarter final the team beat Villa Lidköping BK in a tough game that was decided in a penalty shootout. In the semi final Vänersborg won against Dynamo Moscow 3-2.
