The 35th World Championship was held in Khabarovsk, Russia. The A-Championship was be played at the end of March and beginning of April, which meant that the championship was decided after the national leagues. The B-Championship was decided at the end of January and beginning of February.

China participated for the first time. The Latvian team participated in both Championship A and B.
