Ulyanovsk, Russia, 1-7 and 10-14 February
The main game venue was the Volga Sport Arena. Due to its larger audience capacity for games like bronze and finals, they were played at the Trud Stadium on the natural ice field. The World Championship was won by Russia. Group A was played in Ulyanovsk and in Dimitrovgrad.
As a new country, Czech Republic took part in the tournament. Of the players, American Rick Haney played a record 20th World Championship. The first one was 1991.
