This World Championship was the 30th World Championship. It was played at Sports Complex Krylatskoie.

Sweden won the final against Russia on extra time and Golden Goal 6-5, after decisive goal by Daniel Mossberg. This was the first time that Sweden managed to win the gold medal in Moscow. Finland conquered the bronze by defeating Kazakhstan by 4-3 by extension.
