Russian great player Pavel Franz is now taking over as head coach for the Russian national team. Former coach Mikhail Yuriev has chosen to leave the job with the national team. Yuriev wants to focus entirely on his club team back home in Khabarovsk. He argues that the distance to both Moscow and the other bandy countries is too large from Khabarovsk to be able to perform the dual mission.

Pavel Franz has six World Championships gold medals in his luggage and has through his career played in several Russian clubs and a long time in Swedish IFK Vänersborg. The assisting team Pavel Franz will surround himself will be presented later.
