The Federation of International Bandy and the Swedish Bandy Federation have grief. Today, March 25, we have been informed that former long-time chairman of both the Swedish Bandy Federation’s and the Federation of International Bandy’s Rules and Referee’s committee, Per-Erik Åhlund, left us after a period of illness.
Pelle fell asleep yesterday after a rapid illness. Our thoughts go to Pelle’s family and the grief is for us all completely unimaginable.
Pelle Åhlund was the FIB RRC chairman for the period 2011-2014 and was the SBF RRC chairman for the period 2006-2014. I myself had the great pleasure of working with him during this period and I, like many others, will always remember his fine leadership characterized by respect and great expertise in refereeing.
It was with great pain that we received this tragic news and the missing is endless! Per-Erik Åhlund turned 48.
