Akilles became Finnish cup champion after the final victory on Friday night, January 3 against Veiterä. The match was played at Veiterä’s home arena Kisapuisto in Lappeenranta and the guests took home the Finnish Cup by a 3-2 win. Decisive goal was struck in the final regular minute of the match by Rolf Larsson. Veiterä was tipped as a winner and thus were favorites. Akilles made a very good match and was in the lead with both 1-0 and 2-1.

Veiterä tops the Finnish league after eight innings of 15 points and Akilles is third with 13 points.
