FIB 2023 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GIRLS Y17
The Norwegian Bandy Federation (NBF) organized the FIB World Championships in bandy for Y17 Girls in Oslo February 24-26, 2023. Participating teams be Finland, Sweden and Norway. All games were played at Bergbanen at Ullevål Stadium.
Sweden were reigning champion since the 2022 tournament. Sweden won that championship in Sweden after a big final victory against Norway 7-1. That was Swedens sixth gold medal in a row.

Oslo
Oslo is Norway’s capital and largest city with more than one million inhabitants including eleven nearby municipalities. Oslo was named Europe- an environmental capital in 2019.
According to Snorre’s King Saga, Oslo was founded around the year 1048 by King Harald Hårdråde. Oslo became the capital in 1299. After a three-day fire in 1624, the city was moved west and rebuilt under the name Christiania, while the original Oslo kept its name as an area outside the city. During the expansion of the city in 1859, the suburb of Oslo was incorporated into Christiania.
Oslo is a city of many sports, especially of course winter sports like ice skating, skiing and bandy in the winter – and sea and swimming in the summer.
In 1918, Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson won a competition to design City Hall, but three decades passed before it was completed and opened in 1950. The town hall, also called the Festsalen, is one of Norway’s largest and most important representative rooms. It is in this room the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded.
